SLIPKNOT Frontman Reveals Inspiration For Son's Name

SLIPKNOT frontman Corey Taylor recently explained to Australia's Undercover why he decided to name his son Griffin Parker Taylor.

"Griffin we thought was a really good name and Parker is three different people," Corey said. "Peter Parker, obviously Spider-man. Dorothy Parker, an amazing writer and Charlie Parker. He's got a good legacy to live up to, I think. A kid named after Spider-man, a 1920's drunken writer and a dead jazz musician. He has a lot to live up to, you know (laughs).

"We had always wanted to have his middle name Parker. We just couldn't think of the first name. We were really racking our brains about it. Then one day my fiancée Scarlett said, 'What about Griffin?' and it just worked. It was a name we felt really good about."

Being a new dad is tough when you are in two famous rock bands and always on the road. "The only thing that sucks is that I'm out on the road so I get to see him very few and far between" he said. "We had a show in Chicago which is the closest one to home so we brought the family up. I had a day off the next day so I could spend some time with him."
